NATIONAL CONFERENCE – PSYCHOTECHNIQUA EAST AND WEST

 

National Conference Psychotechniqua East and West took place at the College Seminar Hall on February 8th and 9th, 2018. Inaugurated by Principal Dr MR Sudarsanakumar, and felicitated by  Dr Anilkumar, IQAC Convenor and Dr Sudhadevi, Research Committee Convener; the Conference took off with the key paper on “Hypnosis’ by Sri Jini K Gopinath, Director and Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Mind Matters Clinic, Bangalore. Dr Sam Sanandaraj, Former Professor and Head of the Department of Psychology of Kerala University who has guided 43 research scholars, guided the delegated on Research Methodology and Psychological test Construction.
Second day of Seminar took off with the paper on “Tri Gunas and the Human Behaviour” by Smt Su-Gita Vani,of Mayapur Institute,  followed by Introduction to Integrative Art Therapy by Dr Sajini Velayudhan, Clinical Psychologist, General Hospital Kozhencherry, Kerala. The technical sessions ended with a highly thought provoking session by Dr V George Mathew, Former Professor and Head, Department of Psychology, Kerala University. The importance of integrating psychological theories from the Indian traditional literature into the syllabus of Psychology was brought out by Dr George Mathew. He pointed out that Indian scriptures are rich in Psychological concepts.
Principal Dr MR Sudarsanakumar, and Dr Bijukumar K, PTA Secretary handed out the Certificates during the Valedictory function. The Conference was appreciated in his speech by Dr Anandakumar, Council Secretary.
Delegates from Chennai, Bangalore, IGNOU, TKM College, SD Alapuzha, Government Women’s College Vazhuthacaud, Loyola College, Fathima Mata College, Kollam, Sanjeevani, Mahathma Gandhi College, enriched the Conference by lively participation and Q&A sessions. Dr Subha Sachithanand coordiantor of the Conference thanked everyone. Dr Prathibha S Nair, Dr Jayaraj B, Smt Meera were present.
