Report of activities conducted by National Service Scheme in 2016-17

 

National Service Scheme Mahatma Gandhi college unit conducted the following activities during 2016-17

  • Jul-17: NSS enrolled 100 volunteers from first year degree students.
  • 02-Oct-17: NSS in connection with HLL conducted a survey at Kowdiar and gave awareness to the residents of the locality on hygiene.
  • 15-Oct-17: NSS organized plastic free MG campus initiative with the participation of 75 volunteers. Principal inaugurated the event.
  • 10-Nov-17: Personality class was organized to enhance the personality of the volunteers. The program was conducted by Mrs Vijayalakshmi.
  • 12-Jan-17: National Service Scheme has organized a program at the wake of National Youth Day on 12-Jan-17. It was conducted in the seminar hall at 10am. Dr M R Sudharshana Kumar, Principal inaugurated the program. In continuation to that, an awareness program on ‘Substance Abuse’ was conducted, headed by Dr Madujan, Psychologist, Karunasai. It was felicitated by IQAC convenor Dr Balachandran and PTA member Dr Usha. The program had a great impact and was well received by the students.
  • 21-Feb-17: National Service Scheme conducted a program on Ecological Footprint, presented by Mr Renjan Mathew Varghese on 21-Feb-2017. It was inaugurated by the Principal Dr M R Sudharasana Kumar.The session provided insights on how sustainable are we and it evoked the grey matter and interest among students
  • Finally, NSS conducted annual camp from March 3rd to March 9th 2017 with the motto “Glimpses on reality”.The camp was inaugurated by Shri M R Gopakumar (cine artist) along with Principal Dr M R Sudharsana Kumar.
    100 volunteers participated in the camp. Survey was conducted regarding the waste management during the camp.
