Principal’s Message

Dr Beena S.

Mahatma Gandhi College, established in the year 1948 with its own distinct identity and tradition has been a tower of learning for many generations. It has moulded the destiny of hundreds of people for a better tomorrow. The college has emerged as a leading centre for teaching, learning and research in the field of higher education in South India.

The achievements of the college in quality enhancement are clear in the accreditation and assessment grades that the college has received so far. The college received Grade A in the first phase of accreditation. This was sustained in the re-accreditation of 2013 when the college was conferred with the status of College with Potential for Excellence. In the third phase of accreditation in 2018, Mahatma Gandhi College was awarded B+ grade with a CGPA of 2.73.

Our college bagged 68th position in the prestigious NIRF (National Institute of Ranking framework) ranking of 2018, released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. I am duty bound to thank the Management, the staff and the students for these achievements.

I am happy to note that the Management of the college, Nair Service Society, has clear and proper vision and is constantly equipping the college to attain the vision and mission of the college.

Located in the heart of the city, our college has been a cynosure. We have a dedicated faculty who opens the door for students, but at the same time encourages them to enter it by themselves.

I am sure our students will always strive to uphold the dignity of our college and keep its flag ever flying high. India is known for its rich values, culture and heritage. I impress upon all our young learning community to emerge as her proud and worthy citizens.

I wish our students all success in their endeavours.
