Rules Regulating Payment of Fees

 

As per G.O. MS 40 95/74 H.Edu. dated 12-6-1974, the first installment of tuition fee and special fees from students of senior classes should be collected within a period of seven consecutive working days, beginning from the date of re-opening of the college. In the case of students of junior classes, the first installment of tuition fees due till the date of admission with special fees and caution deposits should be paid on or before the 7th consecutive working day of the concerned month.

  1. Tuition fee shall be collected from June to February of the academic year in three equal installments. However, the fee for a year can be submitted in lump sum with the first installment. No fee is collected in July.
  2. The miscellaneous fee prescribed shall be collected along with the first installment in June.
  3. Subsequent installments shall be collected as notified on or before the seventh working day of June, October and December, on specified days, for each class.
  4. If the specified day for fee collection is a holiday, fee due is collected on the next working day.
  5. A fine of Rs.10/- will be levied after the 10th day of the due date.
  6. If the fee and fine due are not remitted within 15 days of the due date, the name of the defaulter will be put on the notice board.
  7. The last chance to clear an installment of the fee shall be the date previous to the due date of the succeeding installment.
  8. A defaulter shall not be allowed to attend another term without remitting the fee for the previous term.
  9. A defaulter who does not clear all the dues by March he / she shall not be promoted to a higher class or presented for the University examination.
  10. A student admitted for one term only will have to remit the tuition fee for that term and the miscellaneous fees in full at the time of admission.
  11. The rules are subject to change or modification according to the Government / University orders issued from time to time.
  12. Fee shall be accepted only on stipulated dates for each class. Time for remittance is from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. only. Receipts with the college seal shall be issued on all payments which should be produced for verification on demand. Students are advised to verify the receipts of remittance before leaving the counter. Also, they are advised to tender exact change to avoid delay at the counter.

FEE CONCESSIONS

  1. Students eligible for fee concessions should submit their applications to the Principal in the prescribed form within 15 days of their admission. The forms are available at the college office.
  2. Applicants belonging to S.C/S.T/ Kudumbi or any other backward communities should produce caste and income certificates from the Tahasildar / Village Officers concerned.
  3. Concessions are also be available to other students as per provisions of the Kumara Pillai Commission Report (KPCR) within the income limits : Rs.25,000/- for Degree and Rs.42,000/- for Post graduate courses.

SCHOLARSHIPS

1. Kerala State Merit Scholarships (Merit-cum-means basis)

3. Fisheries Scholarships : Strictly on merit awarded to fishermen’s children.

4. Govt. of India Hindi Scholarships (Strictly on the basis of merit). Award on the basis of     marks for Hindi at the B.A/B.Sc/B.Com level or M.A.
