Interdepartmental World Cup Football Quiz
An interdepartmental quiz competition ‘Copa Del Mundo – 2K18’ was conducted on 12 July 2018 jointly by the PG department of English and the department of Physical education in relation with the FIFA WORLD CUP – Russia 2018 .
The program started at 1.30pm and the esteemed chief guest of the day was DR. T. S. SUJATHA, Principal of our collage. The HOD of Physical Education Dr. T. A. Ramesh Kumar and HOD of English department Sri. Jayalakshmi P.R were also present. The quiz master of the day was Sri.Aravindan S.S, (Asst.Professor P.G.Department of English)
Students from various departments assembled in the seminar hall and there were 23 teams. Out of these 23 teams, 4 teams were selected to the semifinals after the preliminary round. The four teams were also given the chance to select their group names and they selected Belgium, Argentina, Brazil, and Croatia. The first semifinal match was between two teams who secured the first and fourth place and the second semifinal was between the second and the third place . There were three rounds in total for each semi finals. In the first two rounds, which was named ‘the first half’ and ‘the second half’, the quiz master asked both the teams a set of questions and the final round was a penalty shootout in which one among the two members of each team came face to face and asked each other a set of questions that they have selected. This was repeated with the other two members coming face to face. Out of these four teams, two teams were selected to the finals (team Belgium and team Croatia). In the final round, the same pattern was followed and team Belgium emerged as victorious .

First place- Team Belgium

The Principal congratulated the winning teams and also announced the teams would receive the certificate and momento in this year’s Merit day. The program was a resounding success not only by the enthusiastic participation but also by the efforts pit in by the good spirited volunteers Jidhu, Anagha, Bhagya, Akhila, Swetha, Anjali, Sajith, Abhishek, Alkesh, Yedu, Luie, Ajin, Akhilesh.
