Botany Department Leads Educational Biodiversity Walk at Punchakkari Wetland
The Post Graduate Department of Botany & Research Centre organized a Biodiversity Walk to the Punchakkari Wetland on 25th June 2025. All students of the Department, including Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Research Scholars, actively participated in the programme, making it a memorable and unifying academic event. Faculty members Dr. Sivu A.R. (HoD) and Dr. Remya Krishnan accompanied the students throughout the walk, guiding and encouraging observational learning. Research scholars and teachers shared their knowledge on the identification and ecological significance of various native plant species.
As part of academic enrichment, students also collected plant specimens for herbarium preparation, learning hands-on about field collection methods, plant taxonomy, and documentation practices.
