Interactive session on “Poem and Culture”

NSS unit of MG college (unit no. KL 15 A and B) organized an interactive session on “Kavitha and samskaram” by Shri Babu Mandur (social worker) on January 4,2020. The program commenced at 10:30 a.m. at college seminar hall. The welcome speech was given by Dr. Dhanya V.S. ,program officer of NSS MG college unit. Dr. Suresh Chandra Kurup, program officer of NSS MG college unit, gave the presidential address. The program was inaugurated by Dr. M.S. Anilkumar, Principal,MG college. After this by about 10:50 a.m. chief guest Shri Babu Mandur talked to the volunteers. He spoke about the present lack of passion for poems and how to overcome this lackness. He urged the volunteers to have a different perspective towards poems, thus showing how we could enjoy poems. He also entertained the audience through various magic performances. The class was taken by narrating various poems along with the involvement of volunteers. He talked about the contents of a poem and taught about the relevance of “words” used in a poem which conveys the feeling of the whole poem. He ended his session by making volunteers realise how well “a vision was important before taking up a decision”. The session came to an end by 3:15 p.m. After this Shri Babu Mandur along with NSS programme officers and NSS volunteers took an initiative in planting a sapling in the college campus as a part of “Oru thai ammakku vendi.”
