Library and Reading Room
The college provides extensive facilities for reading and borrowing books with a library housing over 60,000 books and subscriptions to various dailies and periodicals. The library is divided into four sections:
A. Reference
Reference books are for on-site reference only during working hours, supervised by library staff. Teaching staff may borrow reference books for a maximum of one week with the permission of the Professor-in-charge.
B. General and Departmental Library
Operating from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the general library allows three books for a degree student and five books for a postgraduate student at a time. Book requests must be submitted in a prescribed form before 1:30 p.m. on the previous working day. A maximum of 3 books (5 for PG students) is issued, and fines of Rs. 1/- per book per day apply for late returns. Damaging or losing books incurs fines as specified.
C. Rules Regarding the Reading Room
Strict rules apply to the reading room, prohibiting the removal of attached papers and periodicals, requiring complete silence, and mandating the exclusion of personal belongings. Readers must vacate the hall five minutes before closing time.
D. Internet Access and Electronic Library
The campus is Wi-Fi enabled, offering free internet access for staff and students. Permission from the Professor in-charge is required for utilization. This facility allows downloading of free e-journals and e-books, enhancing research and academic resources.
