Minister inaugurates extension of infrastructure under RUSA project

The new academic block and the renovated open-air auditorium, constructed under the RUSA 2.0 project at Mahatma Gandhi College in Thiruvananthapuram, were inaugurated by Dr. R. Bindu, Minister for Higher Education on 31-01-2025. 

The newly constructed academic block has an area of 4,192 sq. ft. (389.46 sq. m.). The open-air auditorium, with an area of 10,000 sq. ft. (929.03 sq. m.), has been provided with a suitable roof made of G.I roofing sheet material. The auditorium is designed to be used for various academic and extracurricular activities.

The newly constructed two-story academic block, developed under the RUSA (RUSA) 2.0 project, is a major milestone in improving the academic infrastructure of Mahatma Gandhi College in Thiruvananthapuram. This building, with its modern design and state-of-the-art facilities, is envisioned to support better learning, research, and collaboration. It includes spacious classrooms and department offices. The renovation and roofing of the existing open-air auditorium, carried out as a complement to this development, have also been completed. These two constructions have a major impact on the academic infrastructure of the college, thereby making it beneficial for the students to have more space and facilities.
