Annual Research meet and merit day PG Department of Commerce and Research Centre
The Annual Research Meet and Merit Day, organized by the PG Department of Commerce and Research Centre at Mahatma Gandhi College, Thiruvananthapuram, took place on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the Seminar Hall of the college. The event commenced at 9:30 AM and was designed to recognize Research Supervisors and scholars who earned their Doctoral Degrees in the academic year 2024-25, honor students for their academic achievements, and facilitate the annual presentation of Research Scholars.
The program began with an inaugural session at 9:30 AM, featuring a prayer and Acharyanusmaranam, followed by a welcome speech and presidential address by Dr. Vinod A.S., Associate Professor and Head of the department. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Anandakumar V.M., Principal of Mahatma Gandhi College. The felicitation ceremony included distinguished guests such as Dr. Sreelatha B. (Retired Professor, MG College), Dr. Hari K. (Assistant Professor, VTM NSS College, Dhanuvachapuram), Mr. Jalesh Kumar A.S. (Chief Engineer, KSEB), Dr. S. Priya (Assistant Professor, NSS College, Nilamel), Dr. Resmi Raghunandan (Research Coordinator, MG College), Dr. Dileep A.S. (Associate Professor), Dr. Sumitha R. (Assistant Professor), Dr. Deepa Divakaran (Assistant Professor), Dr. Vishnu Gopan (Assistant Professor), Mrs. Krishna Kumari N. (Assistant Professor), and Adv. Dr. Radhika G. (Part-Time Lecturer).
The endowment awards were a highlight of the event, with the following recognitions:
- **Prof. M.S. Sreekumari Memorial Endowment Award** by Dr. Sreelatha B. for M.Com and B.Com toppers.
- **Prof. S. Krishnan Nair Endowment Award** by Dr. Hari K. for M.Com and B.Com toppers.
- **Jeevan Kumar A.S. Memorial Endowment Award** by Mr. Jalesh Kumar A.S. and Dr. S. Priya for M.Com and B.Com second position holders.
- **Vivek A.S. Memorial Endowment Award** by Dr. Vinod A.S. for M.Com and B.Com third position holders.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rakesh S. (Assistant Professor). Following the inaugural session, a tea break was scheduled at 11:00 AM, after which Session 2 began at 11:15 AM with Research Progress Presentations evaluated by the chief guest, Dr. J.B. Rajan, Principal of IMDOR College of Advanced Studies, Mylam, TVM, and former Associate Professor at KILA. The event concluded with a lunch break at 1:30 PM.
