6. Objective of the Programme:

The programme aimed to raise awareness about sustainable living practices by educating participants on the concepts of circular economy and green hydrogen. It intended to encourage environmental responsibility and promote innovative ideas for sustainability among students and NCC cadets.

9. Number of Participants: Approximately 50 participants including UG students and NCC cadets

10. Brief Report / Description:

On June 5, in observance of World Environment Day, the NCC Naval Wing and Department of Psychology of Mahatma Gandhi College organized a seminar on the topic "Importance of Circular Economy and Green Hydrogen." The session was conducted by Dr. Shivu A R, Head of the Department of Botany. The seminar highlighted how circular economy models can reduce waste, optimize resource use, and contribute to environmental sustainability. Participants, comprising students and NCC cadets, engaged actively and gained insight into sustainable living practices. Following the seminar, a slogan competition and poster-making competition were held to encourage creativity and environmental awareness. Sravan Krishna from the Department of Mathematics secured first place in the slogan competition, while Abhirami A S from the Department of Psychology won first place in the poster-making competition. Both winners were felicitated with tree saplings as a symbol of their commitment to environmental conservation.

Verbal Feedback was collected from participants, with the majority expressing high satisfaction with the content and delivery of the seminar. Many appreciated the interactive nature of the session and the relevance of the topic to current environmental challenges.
