Blood Donation Campaign by NCC Army Wing
The NCC Army Wing of Mahatma Gandhi College organised a Blood Donation Awareness Campaign with the theme "Blood is Thicker Than Water" on Thursday. The initiative sought to raise awareness among students about the vital role and social responsibility of voluntary blood donation.
The event commenced with a prayer and Acharyavandanam led by L/CPL Anakha JS. Lt Dr Binukumar B J, Associate NCC Officer, delivered the welcome address, and the programme was officially inaugurated by the Principal, Dr Anandakumar V M.
A keynote address was delivered by Sri N K Sunilkumar, Assistant Professor of Sociology, who underlined the life-saving impact of blood donation and urged students to contribute actively to humanitarian causes. A memento was presented to him in appreciation of his insights and encouragement.
The campaign also featured a quiz competition designed to engage cadets and enhance their understanding of blood donation and related health factors. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by L/CPL Amritha Ajay.
